  • Avis car rental at MCO?

I currently have a reservation for an Avis car in Orlando. What I'm trying to find out is the location of the car pick up. It looks like there may be at least a counter at the airport, but does pick up require a shuttle ride elsewhere? It's been a few years since I've been to Orlando and I don't remember who we rented from at that time. I do remember needing to take a shuttle what seemed like quite a distance to get the car. I'm trying to figure out how much time to allow.

    TIA
    Luanne

From what I recall, You exit through the escalator and the parking lot is right there. They make it easy.

I just went in and used my corporate discount. I never seem to be able to beat it, so I didn't even try.

avis counter is ground level - garage side. do the documents and then walk out the door and to the garage where rentals await.

I alway find that L&M at MCO beats corporate. And they dont snach your credit card until you get to the counter. (the first time that worried me because I thought the reservation had not "taken" I was so trained to "give up" the card info at rental sites). I rent the economy at the web site, most of the time there are none left when I arrive at MCO and they have to give me a "free upgrade".

I used L&M the last time I was there. No problems and smaller lines than the others.

I used L&M several years ago - they made me BRING a copy of my car insurance with me..the whole policy, otherwise you had to take their insurance - DH had to fax it to the airport!

Don't know if they stil do that but ask!

Okay, tried this. For a mid-size car the dates I need L&M quote was $215.12. Avis with my corporate rate was $171.52. Think I'll keep my Avis reservation.

I think I'll stick with my Avis rental. Since I have a Wizard number it usually speeds up the process, plus I'll get United miles for the rental.

Don't forget to get the Costco Travel magazine at their stores. They have car rental coupons (codes) that can beat any corporate discount.

Nope they couldn't. Already tried. I really have never been able to find anywhere that beats my corporate account.
