We didn't have far to go from our Kissimmee motel to OL on check-in day, and our extended family arrived a little early after a 20-hour drive.
So I went to check-in at 1:00 PM. The windows all still said Check Out on them, so I jokingly turned one around so it said Check-in. The guy said we couldn't go to our unit yet, because it wasn't ready, but he would check us in and we could go to River Island.
I checked in, got our car tags, and went back out as everyone arrived.
We headed to River Island and started our vacation.
At 3:00 I went to our unit and it was ready, so I brought our stuff in.
River Island was OK, but not up to all the advance billing. The fam was disappointed with the lazy river, that it not have to flow others we have been on have. And as others have pointed out, it does not compare at all to Orlando water parks.
The fam expressed their lack of enthusiasm for River Island by not asking to go back. They preferred our little East Village pool and hot tub. I checked out Splash Lagoon a couple of times and it was deserted, so RI is pulling folks away from the other pools.
