    Marathon

I own at Marathon Beach Club, about an hours drive from Key West. Only 20 or so units at this small resort. All units are 2 BR. Let me know if you have any questions about this resort.

We've traded into Key West for nine out of the last ten years. Almost invariably we end up with Hyatt's Beach House which we like very much. It's a quiet area away from all the noise etc. of Old Town (around Duval), yet when we want to go there or to the sunset pier to watch the sunset, we've never had problems finding street parking (meters are something like $.25/10-15 minutes). There is a parking garage on Grinnell & Caroline about a block south of the harbour.

Of the three Hyatts the Sunset Harbour is the hardest to get into. It's popular because it is in the heart of Old Town right next to Mallory Square. The Windward Pointe is the newest resort but it is immediately adjacent to the airport which can be a pain. We spent a week there and while we noticed the noise of the planes coming and going, it didn't ruin the vacation experience. Beach House the easiest trade and by coincidence is our favorite. I like the location and the quiet atmosphere.

If you have specific questions, I would be happy to answer them (if I know the answer) or I'm sure someone here would be able to chime in.

I know the temperature.... I was trying to get opinions on if it is unbearable that time year like it would be in Orlando.

Oh, that's it . . . it's the temp that makes Orlando unbearable.

It will be hot and humid but not like Orlando. We have been to Key West several times in August and enjoyed it. Just dont' be out walking in the middle of the day. Find something else to do during this time. I rarely drink but would take Key West over Orlando any day.

Thanks for your input. I was just using Orlando as a frame of reference not as a comparison to which place to go to. I like all different kinds of places and I have a 10 year old so I try to make everyone happy.
