We ae doing a search for SW Florida Jan Feb and have had no luck w RCI. Anyone have any suggestions on getting a place? Two years ago we could have gotten many but the last two years it has really slowed to almost nothing. Thanks in advance.

See JLB's posts a couple of threads down. He keeps track of SW FL availability. SW FL like a lot of other places doesn't seem to have as much available as it did previously.

Nice to hear a fresh voice saying what some of us have been stating. This is all I'm seeing looking from last weekend in Dec going 10 weeks for 2008 and 2009 using a very strong trader:

Well you could read thru the tome and make up your own mind about 2008. Plain crazy or just lucky you decide. Availability is totally dried up until May in that region and that's at 2 years out. and there aren't any last minute things either unlike say Hawaii.

Do you not have an ongoing search in place? I know it's always a blast to find that great exchange online but for anything hard, I always put an online in at the earliest possible time and have never been skunked.

I'm still gnashing my teeth that I've wasted three months because I don't have anything in RCI to search for early '09 with. But come June I'll be up and running and hopefully won't have missed the boat.

My search the fartest north I went was Sanibel/Captiva. I have near 30 places on the search right now.

Sorry Herbster. I've been busy.

My daily search of SW FL for January, for 2007, has been on zero, or as good as zero, for several months. All you could hope to see now is an occasional Lehigh.

I have searched that almost daily since RCI.com began, 1997, and have recorded the results since 3/27/2002. You can read my summaries either here or on the FL board, OY.

I start searches 24 months ahead, each January as soon as we get back from FL. I have 2008 and 2009 booked. But I still search, and record, until the day we leave.

Any specifics you would like to know, just ask.
