Review of the Animal Kingdom Villa Preview Center

Wed - Bright - Sunny - Windy - Warm

We are (currently) staying at the beautiful DVC
Disney Vacation Club - Saratoga Springs Resort

Yesterday, we went over to the SS theatre near
the DVC Preview Center and seen the AK models

Disney has a Model of a 2 Bedroom Lock Out setup
As you walk inside you feel like you have just returned
from a day out on safari. These units are really dark...
with Black appliances and heavy dark wood furnishings!

The One Bedroom Floorplan
will offer two full bathrooms
A beautiful Master Bath and a "second bathroom"
just inside the entry way & without the extra doors
(for guests that maybe staying on the sleep sofa)

The Studio is your basic floorplan
with a wetbar area & regular bath

Huge Flat Sceen Televistions framed to blend in with
the Animal Kingdrom Theme and Furnishings - Neat!

The first AK units will open this year (2007)
They are converting units inside the original
Animal Kingdom Lodge (top floors) to DVC
The new buildings/section will be to the left of
the lodge & built in the design of Mickeys Ears

The new Disney Vacation Club Animal Kingdom Villas
that will be built are scheduled to "open in 2009"...

It will be appealing for some and the kids will love the AK look,
but we prefer the light and airy feel of Saratoga Springs Villas.

After Dinner

We went over to the Poly Resort and sat around the pool area
Took some photos and checked out the pontoon boat rentals.

We have always wanted to try Saratoga Springs and love your description of the views. The units are definitely more formal than Old Key West.

How much are they quoting for prices at Animal Kingdom Lodge? The units sound great, but if we buy, we are going to wait for one of the big sales, if they even do one again.

Does the master bathroom have a large whirlpool tub at Animal Kingdom?

Disney`s Saratoga Springs Resort Villas

The exterior of our building is painted
a soft pastle yellow and green color.

The Living Room - Dining Area - Kitchen - area
This area is painted in a soft shade of Canary Yellow

To the left of the front doorway entrance
The Master Bedroom - with King Size Bed
This room is painted in a soft shade of Alligator Green

To the right of the front doorway entrance
The Second (Guest) Bedroom - with 2 Queen Beds
This room is painted in a soft shade of Shrimp beige/pink

The carpet and drapes have a pale green color with patterns
We love the look and feel of Saratoga Springs Resort Villas

The only problem we have had and noticed
Is that there are NO Luggage Carts to carry
your belongings/groceries from check-in area
with out having a bell person that care of it.

Since we arrived and are leaving by car - at least
One luggage cart per building would be a benefit!

So many DVC guests (adults - teens - children) are
walking around the property - pulling their luggage..

Not a Disney Magical Experience for them..

DVC: Saratoga Springs Resort

We have always wanted to try Saratoga Springs and love your description
of the views. The units are definitely more formal than Old Key West.

You would love our location! We are near the Reedy Creek Fire Dept
and right next to the Paddock Swimming Pool and Outdoor Hot Tub.

Saratoga Springs Resort Villas are very "upscale" with
Thomasville high quality furnishings & comfortable beds
It is definitely our favorite Disney Vacation Club Resort.

Warm and Sunny with Huge Clouds

Today we went to SeaWorld Orlando
and had a wonderful picnic style lunch
with the SeaWorld Tower as our backdrop

Ham, Cheese,Turkey, Roast Beef
Club Sandwiches on Italian Bread
and red vine ripe Florida tomatoes
Sugar Free Jello - Chilled soft drink

There are lots of people coming in
for the long Holiday Weekend

Plan to do Arabian Nights Dinner Show
ond day next week for Bill`s Birthday...

Disney`s Saratoga Springs Resort - Orlando

Beautiful Morning with Sun and Clouds - Temp. 76 degrees

This is our last full day here at Disney`s Saratogo Springs
We have to check out on Sunday and move to OLCC RI.
We will hate to leave DVC Saratoga Springs and our villa..

Like the famous Ivory Soap Slogan "99.44/100% Pure"
This weeks vacation and stay has been near perfect.

If anyone is interested in seeing the SSR Models
they are open to the public evenings 5PM - 7 PM
They have 3 models.. A studio - One Bedroom (L/O)
and the two story Grande Villa.. All the furnishings
are mostly the same. Just the floorplans and sizes
differ and of course the GV has a huge Dining Room
and Full Kitchen.. They are just beautiful.

They do not have a standard 2 Bedroom Model
like we are staying in. Our Villa is perfect for
families with children. Little Lucky and his friends
have been all over the units. They love watching
Disney Cartoons on each of the 3 Philips Televisisions.

By the way..
When we were at Old Key West and the Boardwalk
We stopped in to pickup some kiddy party balloons.
These two DVC resorts no longer offer free balloons.
We always enjoyed the balloons and like the feel of
having them in the villa.. More of a party feel..
Next time we will buy some at the store & bring them.

I get such a big kick out of seeing them sitting in various spots throughout your stay.

This was us last year at OKW. We came in on the Magical Express Bus but carried our luggage with us. We don't usually check our bags with the airlines. Asked the bell person for assistance, they said it would take about a 1/2 hour to drive us to our building, or we could ride the resort bus with our bags, or just walk to our building with our bags. They never offer to deliver our bags for us. We walked pulling our bags to our building, I was glad it wasn't a long walk since we had 2 small girls with us. This was completely different from the year before, the year before as soon as we exited the bus the bell person was right there to take care of our luggage. Other than this experience our trip was wonderful. Now I'm trying to getting into SSR for next January through II, keeping my fingers crossed that they come through for us. I just love doing Disney in January, after reading your report and looking at your photos, I can't wait to return.

SeaWorld Orlando

Warm and Sunny with Huge Clouds and a Sprinkle this Morning

Our second visit to SeaWorld. We arrived at the park on Sat at noon
Walked over to the left side of the park and visited the StringRays,
Manatees, Turtles, and Dolphins. Got to see the guests feeding the
Dolphins.. SeaWorld charges $5.00 for a small container of dolphin food.
They have photographers standing in the cove taking professional photos.

SeaWorld Orlando park was so crowded today.
Its like everyone is here for the long "Holiday" weekend.

We had a snack in the Key West area
Hot Dog with mustard and french fries
for $4.99 plus a Diet Soft Drink..

If anyone is interested in the prices for the passes
One of The best deals is the 12 month annual pass
Its a little more money but you get "free parking"

All it takes is a few days and you recover your $100.

They offer an inexpensive Fun Pass but it is only good til 12/31
If you come by bus thats fine - however - if you have a car/van
You have to pay $10 for parking and/or $15 for preferred parking
