  • Which units are best at Sheraton Vistana Resort?

I am traveling to FL in June with extended family, and we have three 2BR units booked at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in Orlando. Has anyone stayed there recently? I am curious which locations are best within the resort. I know they have been renovating certain sections. Are there any sections we should try to avoid? Any guidance is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brent

    We just came back

and we were in the Lakes section.
The location was good as you could use the Lakes pool, or walk through the Lakes recreation building right to the Fountains Pool.

I didn't see any bad areas, some of the older areas don't have elevators. The super pool in the Spa's section was a big hit with our granddaughter, but she seemed to enjoy them all.

The advice I gleaned from reviews was to use the Diamond check in, request the Cascade or Lakes area, which you can do about a month in advance.

You definitely want to request that you are all located in the same area, so I would highly recommend that you use Diamond Check-in.

We enjoyed the resort and it's location, it was close to the parks and food stores, restaurants, etc.

My understanding is that Lakes and Cascades are the newest sections. With that many people, I would tell them you must have an elevator and be in the same vicinity, preferably on the same floor.

I would not recommend settling for Fountains. Those units need remodeling, so it is a good thing they are taking care of that. They had the same furnishings as in 1999, with those tired tannish-gold sofas, 13" televisions in the living room, old cabinets that are badly beaten up, and stained everything. It was pretty bad. I would still take that unit over Orange Lake's South Magnolia Ct. section, but it was not a nice place at all.

Thanks for the tips. I will see if I can get everyone in Lakes.
