I had friends stay here using one of my AC's. After a rough start they said they were very nice units they had. I'm assuming they were older units.
The rough start happened when they arrived late. The desk clerk assigned them to a unit in a building undergoing renovation. The was no one else in that building giving them an earry feeling when they pulled up. Then when they opened the door to the unit it was filthy.
When they went back to the front desk the problem was discovered quickly, the apologized and then found that they didn't have two bedroom units. They put them in two one bedroom units next to each other and asked them to check back the next morning. The next morning they still had no two bedroom units available. Eventually my friends ask if they could just remain in the 2 one bedroom units and they said sure.
Other than the diffiulties at check in they said their stay was great.
We've only been there once and were in a medium age unit but everything looked new. Huge TV that the kids loved. Nice patio for sitting. Well equipped. Very good location for Disney.
We own a 3br lockout but only used the 2br side. It was very roomy for our family of six.
It has been a couple of years, but at the time they had free continental breakfast at the pool every morning. Not sure if they still do. My youngest loved the Trix yogurt. They also had free mini-golf.
My sister owns there and has been there 2 or 3 times. They like it very much. They own a 2 bedroom (non lockoff) and it is plenty of room for their family of 4.
Their only complaint is lots of annoying phone calls from the sales staff, who use scare tactics to get weeks owners to spend lots of money to "upgrade" to the new program. She just unplugs the phone.

We are owners at Mystic Dunes and went back in March for our 4th stay, after 7 years of owning. Our unit is an "end" unit and top floor in Building 12, so we never have an issue with noise. The resort has been upgraded since our last visit...we wished we had brought our g-kids w/us as the newest pool is just what they would have liked. One downside - only restaurant on site is at the golf club so you do need to eat off site or in the unit. We love it for proximity to Disney and other amusements and there are plenty of restaurants up on the "strip" about 5-10 minutes away, also a Publix within driving distance. We understand the golf course is very good, although we don't play. Lots of families enjoy the mini-golf, bicycles and kid focused events. We just love being a bit outside of the hustle and bustle of Route 4.
We rate it a four out of five, only because of limited food availability.
We were there at Christmas in one of the new buildings. Watched fireworks from the public balcony on NY Eve from all Disney parks and Universal in the distance. Since we're owners, the amenities are all free, but I don't recall the costs being too high for the general public. They even serve continental breakfast daily at the pool which is convenient when it's warm enough.
We drove by and looked at the new water "park" but it was too cold while we were there to try it out. The mini-golf is always a big favorite.
It's a nice resort in a very convenient location. I've debated selling my 3br week 52 lockoff just because we own more units than we can use and it's my only II only resort, but we often use at least the 2br side. I hate to let it go.
