  • Sheraton Vistana Experts Help Needed

    a member has a 2BDRM Sunday check-in. What villages are Sunday check-in?

Also member has a child with disabilities. What can/will Sheraton Vistana do for them? It is a 2BDRM 8/6.Any Diamond Lane priviledges that can be used?

Checkin is Sunday, August 5. The RCI VC did say it was 1100 sq ft.

I know Vistana is highly regarded. One of the top 10 in Orlando but that is as far as my notably weak Orlando resort knowledge ends.

    Your help appreciated.

    Lawren,
Is this Vistana Resort or Vistana Villages? I believe that Diamond Lane is only available at Vistana Resort.

I don't have an RCI account, so I don't know the codes for RCI and can't tell you what section that is; however, I would try the Diamond Lane and request ground floor (didn't see any elevators when I was there) in Cascades. This is one of the two nicest sections and closest to the action, so you won't have to go very far; the other newer section, Lakes, is much farther away from the main buildings and this is a HUGE resort. We were in a section once that was so far away, we needed to call for the bellman to pick us up in his little cart just to get to the main building, and we are relatively young and not disabled! With II exchanges, I know they are sticklers for keeping you in the section that was deposited, but I think, given the circumstances, that they might honor these requests. For Diamond Lane, the link from the resort web site is broken, and you need to be an owner to access it from mystarcentral. Here is what the form looks like (sort of-- the formatting is lost in the copy/paste):

Was it 1100 sf exactly? or 1174? The Lakes 2 br is 8/6 and 1174 sf.
Cascades 2 BR is 1025 sf, so it's probably not that. The other sections are not in the Starwood network, so I don't know how to find out the details for those. I do know that some of those are nicer than others (and by that I mean that some are not so nice at all...)

We were in Fountains and didn't like it much, though it was better than Orange Lake. Our unit was in need of a major update. I asked to be moved and they refused, so we were stuck in Fountains, all five of us. Our kids don't seem to care, all are grown, and they were oblilvious! They were going to Disneyworld, so what else matters?

1100 sf is what the VC told me. When I went to the Sheraton Vistana website I saw that there is not an 1100sf exactly - so I am not sure which area it is refering to.

I just went to rci website and saw that they only have one number (0450) for all of Vistana Resort. My bad. II has different codes for different sections and I thought RCI would do the same. Do you have a unit number on your confirmation?

Well, I know that with a Sunday check-in, you can stay in the Falls. We stayed there twice and really liked it...I guess they are older now, but they are little duplexes (with the bottom one being at ground level, which would be good for a disabled child situation) and there are a strip of them that are literally steps from one of the pools.

So, if your friend can get some input on how the Falls units have been looking lately, and if they are still okay, I would recommend that location.

                    Sharon

P.S. I do know that the Falls are 6/6 as opposed to 8/6, because they have twin beds in the second bedroom instead of double beds.

That website only has the info for the Lakes and Cascades sections-- not the others.
