I would drive over to Everglades City on US 41, watching for alligators in the ditches along the way, then go to City Seafood on Begonia street and buy some shrimp and whatever else looks good, then go to Publix and get some crab boil, salad fixins, baguette bread, wine and/or Bud Light, then go to the resort and grill some of whatever you got and boil the rest with the crab boil, then take all that out to the beach and sit there and eat it all evening until the sun goes down.

Does Charter Club have grills? Anyone know?
Jim this sounds like something we will have to do! If I could ask without being ridiculed....what is a crab boil? I know humans can get crabs and boils and I sure hope it's neither of those but something wonderful to eat instead.
One of my dearest friends is meeting me there and we cook very well together. Most of our best meals are on-site with all above ingredients. Perhaps a modification on the Bud Light.Lawren

I spent the last week in June at the Charter Club. I was traveling with my DD(16) and her 2 friends. The girls wanted to go out for fish, so I asked the front desk for recommendations. They suggested The Little Bar, and Pelican Bend. There was also a menu in their book for the Snook.
We tried both Pelican Bend and the Snook.
At Pelican Bend we ate inside where the atmosphere was a bit lacking. That said, I had the Sautéed grouper which one of the best pieces of fish I've eaten in a very long time. The prices here were VERY reasonable. I would go back here in a minute. If you google Pelican bend Marco Island you’ll find many very good reviews. I think it may be possible to eat outside there.
We ate outside at the Snook which was very nice except there were flies EVERYWHERE. The waiters were trying to shoo them away from the food as they brought it to the table and it didn’t get much better when the food was on the table. This may be seasonal, but we weren’t there that long ago. I had beer battered grouper here and it wasn't nearly as good as my meal at the Pelican Bend. My DD ordered Fried Scallops and said they were the best she ever had. Our meal here was $110.00 before tax and tip for the grouper, scallops, an order of coconut shrimp and an order of chicken fingers served with 4 lemonades. The meals came with salad bar which was iceberg lettuce and not too appealing. After going inside for the salad bar I wouldn’t eat inside either. They do have live entertainment and this would be a great place to go for drinks.
Have FunSusan
