Anyone been to OL lately, to see if the WV Clubhouse/Welcome Center is closed yet? And how it is working out to walk across the road to the original sales center to check-in?

So what has happened ? When I was there in 2005 there was no impediments. Has the new highway cut right through this monster resort?

Well, yeah, the new toll road has done an OrangeLake-ectomy. When we were there last Christmas Week, probably for the last time, we were in the building nearest the tollroad, in the East Village.
But that is not the issue here.
The issue here is that the WV Clubhouse (original and 25 years old) is being re-done. It was announced this month that check-in, etc., is being moved to the original sales center, across OL Blvd from the WV Clubhouse.
Park in the Clubhouse parking lot and walk across OL Blvd to check-in, then walk back across OL Blvd to your vehicle.
OY this was downplayed, saying OL Blvd is not very busy, in the same train of thought that said that the WV clubhouse parking lot is normally so full that you had to walk a long way already (not exactly a compliment for a person's home resort, the place they frequently call Home).
And, in saying that, that LOL makes exactly the point that I was trying to make, that that walk across OL Blvd will be at the time when that road is the busiest, when hundreds of vehicles are arriving for check-in.
Without something more than a sign saying, Stop for Pedestrians, or Don't Hit Pedestrians Too Hard, I see it as a dangerous situation, one OL has created for themselves.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Didn't I see something about them closing down the WV pool at some point too?
Now THAT will be interesting.Lawren
