2BR DVC in May?

I've traded into both OKW (2BR) and Villas at Wilderness Lodge (1BR) during the end of August (DVC Dream Season) using my FoxRun week. I was wondering what my chances would be at trading into a DVC 2BR unit any time in May. I'm thinking I might have a shot (most likely at OKW) because May is also considered Dream Season. The request was placed this past June.

At what point should I consider either a 1BR or another resort entirely such as a Marriott?

I think it is doable - but in the future, request at 13 months out.
Traditionally DVC deposits were seen at 10 months or less but I was confirmed into a 2BR first week of December on January 9th this year...

Another new trend is Friday, Saturday, Sunday check-ins while before it was always Saturday.....

It seems that fewer 2BRs are sitting online anymore - so u r smart to have a request in - best chance of matching.

Thanks for the reply Pat. I've been extremely busy and haven't really had time to check back in.

The exchange request is for a friend who just bought a FoxRun red week. I think I may suggest that he take the 3BR Marriott that was available with his '08 week and keep his request going for the DVC w/ his '07 week. He can then cancel the Marriott (losing his exchange fee) if DVC comes through at the last minute.

I might suggest that he give his request a month or two - there will still be plenty of Marriotts for May available even after Christmas - unless he wants to lock in his airfare - but Southwest isn't up until May yet either.

I think your chances are good for May, especially around Mothers Day and Memorial Day.
