  • Requesting DVC

We are just back from Orlando last night and I am planning my request for our next visit in Fall '09. We want to stay in DVC and after a not so wonderful OKW visit (we are DVC owners at OKW and I love it, but we had some issues...room not clean, etc.), I am thinking I want to put in a request at either BWV or BCV. Our dates are extremely flexible, basically anytime in Sept or Oct in a 1BR. So, my question is, if I put in a request with this flexibility and a great trader, how likely will I be confirmed? How far into it should I add OKW and SSR even though those are not my first choices? I am also going to try to use airline miles so the sooner we get confirmed the better...Thoughts?

I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay - I have stayed at SSR and OKW and enjoyed both resorts.

Put in your request in Late August 2008 for your 2 resorts and multiple dates in Sept/October 2009 - are u trading a 1 or 2BR for a 1BR?
    And what resort?

I have matched at 11 months out with DVC - although 10-9 months is more common. If you have a comparable resort and a range of 4-6 weeks, you should be fine.

Super easy with the above advice and a sept/oct timeframe.

I dunno. BCV don't come up often. BWV is easier. If you own DVC, why not just use your points right at 7 months to get BCV? Then you will get it easily as Sept is low season. You can always borrow from your next year's points...

We have a small OKW contract and I have already borrowed from 09...always in the negative! I have a good trader that sees DVC always, so I figure I'll give it a whirl and then snag a Marriott if nothing comes through we want as we love the Marriotts as well.

So basically it's time to add on. Katherine

Not really - unless you really want to - by having the small contract, you get ALL the perks and discounts and privileges of being a DVC owner, but then trade in using a ownership that costs much less if you have flexibility of travel time.

Kind of like buying a resale Starwood week and staying in those 60K Hawaii units
