  • Are there any Orlando resorts with sandy beach?

We are getting tired very quickly going to parks everyday so I wonder if there are any resorts in Orlando area that are on the lake with sandy beach for my 10 yo. I guess Disney resorts are not an option since it's impossible to get them. Thanks a lot for any info.

I think Star Island does - Lake Cecil is on the property. You may need to check out their website - Fairfield resorts.

      Disney's Beach Club Villas.

I'm trying to remember if the Houses at Summer Bay had one. Somebody ?

I just checked on Summerbay condos, here's the link: Summer Bay Condo Resort, Kissimme Florida

I haven't been there, but I believe Grand Beach has a beach on Lake Brian.

Yes there is a beach at Summer Bay with a big climbing thing in the water, jetskis, paddle boats, etc., all for a fee. Keep in mind that swimming in Florida lakes is a very bad idea because of alligators.

Is it safe to swim in Orlando lakes? I thought there was a parasite problem. I believe that's why Disney closed down River Country, their lake-based water park.

Maybe you could get a timeshare with a water park instead? Also, Sea World's new water park sounds awesome. And, an annual pass to Disney's two remaining water parks is only $108, or you can get up to 10 water park days for $45 with the "fun and more option".

Oops, never thought about alligators. I guess we will stick with pools then ...
Thanks so much for all replies.

Resort on Cocoa Beach and Ron Jon are both about an hour away but on the beach. We would rather travel the hour to the parks and then be on the beach the other days.
