  • La Boca Casa & Ventura timeshare reviews - Boca Raton, Florida

There are only two timeshare resorts located in Boca Raton, Florida and both are located on the west side of A1A and across the beach. I have driven past these building hundreds of times but never thought of visiting, so I dropped by to check them out and here are my impressions.

My first stop was La Boca Casa and this place is located directly across the street from the entrance to South Beach Park, a place I have parked many times when visiting the beach, so the location is awesome, but clearly not beachfront.

La Boca Casa is a fixed week 1 bedroom, 1 bath property that only has about 18 units and the place looks worse than the online photos. I imagine that this place probably looked nice when it was first built (probably in the 1960’s) but it appears pretty tired now and should be torn down and replaced with a modern timeshare or condo building (no I am not joking about this). I am sorry to say, but this is not a place that I would recommend to anyone except an older couple that can’t afford anything else.

There were at least 150 listing for units for sale as fixed weeks on a wall near the pool at prices ranging from $3,000 to $10,000, but I would imagine you might have a hard time giving these timeshares away for free. The annual dues runs about $560 per year, but you can rent the same units with a AAA discount for about $100 per night. I would rate this property a 1.75 on a 0-5 point scale as the location is very good, but that’s about it.

Ventura was located further south and was directly west of a condo called The Aragon where two of my friends own units there that range from $3m to 6m each and is one of the nicest beachfront condo developments in the area. However, this condo development greatly overshadows Ventura but there is a small isolated walkway on the side of the Aragon that Ventura guests can use.

Ventura is significantly nicer than La Boca Casa, but is still a tired looking property (probably built in the mid 1970s) and could really use some upgrading. The nice thing about this property was that they offered 2/2 and 3/3 timeshares that are two stories and are very large inside. The furnishings are minimally acceptable but this place is clearly below the standards of a typical Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, DVC timeshare.

The nicest feature was a very beautiful pergola with a huge bougainvillea in full red bloom located near the pool. I actually offered to buy it, but they said it was not for sale. You can see this structure in all their online photos. I believe that these units are floating weeks, but I did not see a sales sheet. A quick online search tells me that these can be bought for the same price as La Boca Case and that would be a no-brainer if you are deciding between the two properties. Room rates run about $300 or more per night, so if you can trade into here, it would be a good deal. Overall I give this property a score of 3.0 on a 0-5 point scale.

I was not blow away by any of these properties, but the Ventura was significantly better than La Boca Casa if you are considering visiting Boca Raton and want to stay in a timeshare.
