What timeshares to stay at near Miami?

I expect to be going to a work conference in Miami in April 2010. What timeshares do people recommend staying at?

I just went to Marriot Beach towers in Ft lauderdale. I think that might be the nicest in the area.

No disrespect intended but Ft lauderdale is too far from Miami, traffic can be a killer. I'd stick with a resort in Miami although both those resorts in Ft Lauderdale are nice

The closest and probably the nicest would be the Marriott at Doral Country club in Miami.

Marriott Miami is apparently FAR from the beach....with not a lot to do - I think it depends on WHERE in Miami you will be.

being the op mostly uses RCI I can't understand why no one has mentioned HGVC S Beach. I loved our stay there in April 2008. I think it is a points resort Gord but I'd have to check.
Just keep your fingers crossed it is not week of 5Apr as that would be a big spring break (Easter/Passover) week for the northeast and much tougher to get.

I second the HGVC south beach. No pool but great location.

There is a nice hot tub on the roof. AND free wi-fi although I had issues keeping the signal at times. Here is my review: Timeshare Review - Spring Break in South Beach

I don't have the exact place. It's pretty much near the beach at some newly rennovated hotel. I suspect we'll want to stay near the beaches. It should be mid-April. I'll read your review.

My vote would go to Solara Surfside in North Miami Beach. If you get the 2br Oceanfront unit, you will not be disappointed.

It's a Bluegreen resort and you can get it directly from a Bluegreen owner.

Does this resort exchange under RCI or II and would the month of Feb. be prime time at this resort?
