  • Orange Lake... not bad.

I just had my first visit to Orange Lake. My unit is in the North village. Overall I was pleased. I bought the unit on resale, so for what I paid for it, I am happy. The villas are very large (at least for my needs). There were four of us and we fit perfectly. There is a lot to do at the resort and you will find many things to do.

However, if you go, stay away from the Polynesian luau. Having been to a luau on the Hawaiian Islands, this one doesn’t even come close and is not worth the $25 i spent on it.

Also, the “owner update” wasn’t really worth the freebies they promise. Their 90 minute presentation took three hours. When it was all said and done all I got was a coupon book which was next to useless and $50 worth of certificates good at restaurants throughout the resort. But since their food is grossly overpriced, that was gone in one meal. I basically wasted three hours for a free dinner.

Other than that I enjoyed the resort very much.

I wish there were pools deeper than 4 feet, and I also wish the lake wasn’t full of amebas so it could be swam in. But neither of those things bothered me too much.

I’ll go back (well since I own there, I don’t really have much of a choice) :P
