  • Which 3 bedroom unit?

We are interested in exchanging into Orlando. Six or seven of us will be travelling (including kids aged 16, 14, 12 and 10). Three bedroom units are available in Cypress Pointe Resort (RCI # 2750) and Grand Beach 1 (RCI #3664). Both resorts look good but is one preferable over the other?

    Thanks.

If I had to pick one of those two I would go with CP because I have not heard anything ood or bad about the other resort.

We stayed at Grand Beach1 in May.I really like the layout of the unit. Two of the bedrooms have king sized beds and their own jetted tubs while the smaller bedroom have two twins. The layout is like a rectangle---l/r,d/r,kitchen in the center and two bedrooms on one side and one bedroom on the other. Also a big screened in porch w/lakeview.There are 2 pools onsite and kept very clean.Parking under cover.Sorry have not stayed at Cypress Pointe so maybe someone else can chime in...either way you'll enjoy DWAngie

It would depend if you will be in Cypress Point 1 or 2. If you are in CP you will be closer to Downtown Disney, and within walking ( 2 long blocks) of several food chains, like Macorni Grill. They have a pizza place onsite at CP. And it has 2 pools. The units are ok, a little worn now.
Grand Beach is down the same freeway exit, in the opsit. direction. It is easy to get to Disney from there also, maybe a few min. more travel time. They also have 2 pools, one is farther from the units, one behind the check in. GB 1 had new furniture when we were there June of this year, very nice. Parking is in front of the building for GB1. GB2, the newer units are smaller and have some parking under them. Both GB 1 and 2 have more parking in front of the building. They are on the shore of Lake Bryan(sp), and you can fish from the resort, or lay around in a hammock on the shore. I think it is a little more laid back then Cypress Point.
We stay at both resorts several times a year. I like the staff at Grand Beach better because we own with DRI and they are staffed with DRI people, we can do late check out there. Cypress Point has rent as staff at the front desk and the last 2 years we have had problems with them when requesting stuff- like a handicap unit(knee surgery), or sheets without holes in them that fit the bed...
I used to like Cypress Point best because I could get to Downtown Disney faster. I like Grand Beach best now because the size of the units, the sheets fit.
It also cost us less points to get into Cypress point then Grand Beach, but since the upgrade to the old units at GB I don't mind the extra point cost- I like sheets that stay on the bed!!

Thanks for your responses everyone. We were leaning toward Grand Beach 1 until I was reminded that the week we were looking at coincided with a family Bat Mitzvah.

We are going to be at Grand Beach for the last week of February. We are looking forward to it. We visited some friends who were staying there a few years ago, and were very impressed.

We stayed at CP and I thought is was big. Lots of room. Plasma TV.... If I remember correctly there was 2 master bedrooms (one is a one bedroom lockoff with it own setting area and kitchen Washer/dryer? and bathroom) the other bedroom has twin beds. We had a great time and could spread out. If I had to guess I would say there is atleast 1200 sq ft in the unit. or more.
