Looking for resort in Orlando during Thanksgiving
Just deposited my week with RCI for the Thanksgiving week 2008, so far no resort have come up. Looking for a 2 bedroom, has anyone deposited a week in September and found a resort in Orlando, during turkey week??

FWIW The Gardens caters to alternative lifestyles. Nothing wrong with it the place is gorgeous and I would stay there in a heartbeat. Just a heads up for those who wouldn't.Originally posted by muzjikLawren

That's up to RCI. If you can't see them online, you'll have to call and ask about those resorts specfically. If the VC is in a good mood, he/she may give you a little bump to get you into one.Comment

The only other option is to buy your plane tickets, and let the search run with RCI. They will continue to match you until nearly the check-in date. If you have good nerves and up for a game of "chicken" it will probably come through.
If I'm understanding you correctly you deposited a 2008 check-in date unit to RCI recently? If that is truly the case that would make your trade power negligible. Within 45 days trade power needed begins to not matter until within 14 days it doesn't matter at all.
If I'm misunderstanding you, could you please tell us what you deposited?

I deposited a 2br unit at Mt. Run in Boyne with at start date of March 6, 2009does that make more sense?Comment

yes, I deposited a 2br at Mountain Run in boyne start date 3/6/09 not sure what that means. Have called RCI stil they tell me nothing is going on with my search. At this point, they tell me I'll have to wait until someone cancels to get a 2br. 1br are available but I need a 2br I would have to pay for another 1br which I don't want to do. So the wait continues.

I will bet that if you have a search in, you will find something in Orlando.
Last winter, Lawren worked and worked to find something for a couple of us on the beach in April.
We both found something with our ongoing searches closer to the date of check in.
5 years ago, we were looking for a house in Florida. I called RCI the Thursday before Thanksgiving and got a bonus week for that Sat. and then the Wed night before Thanksgiving got another week bonus. I did this from the real etate office as we were negotiating to buy our house. things should become available.Comment
