  • HELP! Wyndham Ocean Palms or Marriot Beachplace in FLL?

I have a choice for over thanksgiving ...

Either the Ocean Palms building at Wyndham Sea Gardens OR Marriott Beachplace.

We are Me, DH, DS (15) and Dbaby (3 months).

Which would you choose and why? I have to pick ASAP ...

Stayed at Beach place last year and I enjoyed it, I loved the mall it is connected to. Only problem I recall was that the sun in the pool area is not there to long so you might be going more across the street to the beach.

I was there in Dec, The pool area would be shaded by 2pm.

Here is a recent review of the resort.

Timeshare Review - Nice resort, with a few structural issues

Well, 2 pm would be so bad I guess. We could go to the pool in the morning and then hit the beach in the afternoon.

            Does the beach stay sunny?

There are places on the beach where you can catch the sun, but there are a lot of high rises--several new constructions--around Beach Place(MBP), the new highrise where the old H20 to the south of MBP was and the St. Regis (I think it's still the St. Regis?) to the north that block the sun to a good portion of the beach in the afternoon. MBP itself is a 25 story building and casts a pretty big shadow on the beach.

When I was there it was sunny to at least 5 pm on the beach, 2 pm at the Pool. Now depending of the time of year this might vary a bit. I was there in early Dec,

We'd be there over Thanksgiving, so the sun would probably be the same ...
