Wyndham - Destin or Panama City Beach

Help!

My son has just been relocated to Pensacola, Florida. We are trying to pick a nice location for Thanksgiving (if we can get in).

I don't know anything about either of these:


DESTIN - Which timeshare do you recommend?

Panama City Beach - is it really as nice as member services told me?

Panana City Wyndham is gorgeous!
Have not been to the Destin resorts.

Panama City is newer one, and they start set up president club.

Not sure what the area offers. never been there.

We were at Wyndham Panama City last month. The location cannot be beat, and the units are large and lovely. The big attraction, and is is quite wonderful, is the beach. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

It's about a 2-hour drive from Panama City to Pensacola and Destin is located about halfway between the two. So I'd choose Destin for this kind of trip.

My inlaws stayed for a few days at the Beach St. Cottages in the offseason and said they'd like to go back - nice rooms, heated outdoor pool, pleasant to walk in the area. Other activities were available but ~2 miles away at the Majestic Sun and they appreciate a quieter place. Stay at the Majestic Sun if you'd like to have more activity at your resort and you want the Destin location.

In the offseason, staying directly on the beach may matter less as the beachfront can be windy and cool. You'd want oceanfront if you love the sound of the surf though and that's more readily available in Panama City. The Wyndham resort in Panama City is also newer, if that matters to you. Haven't been to the area myself at all - someday. HTH.
