Staying at Voyager Beach club this november 26...I know absolutely nothing of this area..Any info on restaurants, tourism, specialty markets. would be appreciated. Thanx Jim

Altho it's been years since I've been there I loved the area. There is a neat little village called John's Pass at the marina. They used to have a gamblin boat of there , don't know if it's still there. If Crabby Bill's is still there it's a fun place to eat. I remember plenty of things to do. Shells are plentiful if you like to collect them. Nice beaches, close to St Pete or Clearwater.

Village at John's Pass is still here and better than it used to be. Not sure about the gambling boat; they seem to come and go.

Yes that is also my post on TUG. I just purchased this time share on treasure island last year. I was hoping on getting some info on surrounding area as my wife and i both like to venture around while on vacation. We also like to eat and shop at quant, off the beaten path. I would imagine that there has to be some fishing docks to get fresh seafood, and restaurants. Any and all info is appreciated. Jim

My suggestions would be to visit Tarpon Springs once while you are there. Downtown has several antique stores, but better than that is the Sponge Docks, north of downtown on Dodocanese (sp) Street. Several Greek restauarants plus a few seafood restaurants that aren't Greek. Little touristy stores.
John's Pass is nearby and has some seafood restaurants and also many touristy stores.
We live in the town of Dunedin which has lots of restaurants downtown and some cute stores. Safety Harbor is a similar little town.
If you want night life Ybor City in Tampa seems to be the place to go. It can get wild at times. Daytime is okay.
We enjoy going to the nearby area (forgot name) where the cruise ships depart.
Central Ave in St. Pete has lots of antique stores.
Beachwise they all are good, but can be somewhat different. Clearwater Beach is the most touristy one. Every evening there is a small craft show and entertainment near the pier.
