  • Ko'Olina for the older set?

I just picked up a unit at Ko'Olina for my Dad, though he had asked for Honolulu. He will rent a car, and will want to see the sites, especially Pearl Harbor.

do you think it's an ok location for older folks? Would they be better off staying in HNL? He doesn't like cities really, but he doesn't like driving in them either - sounds like most tours leave from Waikiki - how is the drive to Waikiki from Ko'Olina?

Any help much appreciated, I only have til today to cancel (assuming I can even do that since it got picked up in an ongoing search).

I know the resort is nicer than anyplace I'm likely to pick up on short notice in HNL.

I knew the resorts 'fabulous-ness' would appeal to them - the bad news is they are now going to expect a LOT from you in the future

          KoOlina

As with all resorts, KoOlina, has tours that leave from there. However, they are limited on which days they offer a tour. Last time I was there, they offered two different tours of Pearl Harbor. One that included the Missouri (Tuesday) and one that did not (Thursday). One or both of them may also include a short tour of Honolulu. They also have a tour to the Poly Center (Wednesday). They also have a free shuttle bus that goes down to the Marnia, if a snorkeling trip is in order. The conseirge (SP?), will email a list of tours available. We used an "Entertainment Book" on the Island. We paid for the bus to Poly Center and used the coupon for admission. There is a Luau down the street (Paradise Cove)that we used a coupon for also. The free shuttle bus took us there and brought us back. We went on a Monday and the crowds were half of the weekend.
