Wyndham Waikiki Beachwalk Timeshare

I was able to get a cheap rental from an owner for a 2BR, 2BA Deluxe unit at Wyndham Waikiki Beachwalk for our 2nd Hawaii week next month.

I have a few questions:

1. Are there computers available for use on site? I never take my laptop on vacation.
2. The owner is going to call somebody he knows at the resort to request a good unit location. He recommends facing the street rather than the pool. There are no ocean view units since they built Trump Tower that blocks the view. Do others agree on the street location? We can get up to the 9th floor.
3. What is the best transportation to/from airport? We will not be renting a car.

Any other info on restaurants, activities, etc will be greatly appreciated. We don't cook any meals on vacation.

1. Yes, there are some computers at activity center. I forget if it need charge or just print-out need charge.

2. When I was there, street has some activities before Sunset. And it faces a lot of high end resturants. If you only goes to 9th floor, it probably will not have too much view to the ocean. I was at 14th floor and can see both ocean and street. Not sure about pool's view.

Don't know about transportation, I was with 6 people, rent car is more logic. Sorry. But there are a lot of hotel surrounding it. I don't believe resort has its own transportation to the airport though.

Roberts has a shuttle from the airport to the door of your hotel for $15 roundtrip per person or 9$ one way.

Definitely request the street view; its much better than pool view - the pool is small and surrounded by walls etc (the units facing it); and its right next to the lobby so there is traffic anyway. We had a street view and loved it - you will be facing stores but its great for people watching and enjoying the city. When we stood on our balcony, we could see the beach from down the street - caught a few sunsets - but you cannot really sit out there and relax to it...

A million great restaurants that you can walk to - Roys (our favorite!); Ruth's Chris, there is a large family oriented sports bar type place across the street that was decent, and a smaller sports bar downstairs (my husband had to watch some hockey during our 3 weeks in Hawaii - there is also a Denny's right down the street toward the beach for breakfast or late nights

I would suggest renting a car for at least a few days - its the best thing we did. We would just get a car for the day; you can drive around (so easy to navigate the island) - stop off at the shrimp trucks, and Buzz's restaurant (best food) after spending some time on the beautiful beaches and at the parks. We would just return the car when we got back so that we did not have to pay for overnight parking and walk back to the hotel.

We loved this place and the island (we are city people -- hope you have a great time!!
