Maui in January 2011

I have a request in for Maui in Jan or Feb 2011. Just got a potential match for Maui Lea at Maui Hill, which was not one of my requested resorts. I'm not usually difficult to please, but I was hoping for something a bit upscale. I don't think this is it. Opinions are requested.

We own at Maui Hill and love it. We were just there in April and are planning to go back March 2012. So sorry, I probably can't be of much help. What exactly are you looking for in an upscale resort?

I love Maui Lea at Maui Hill. I think it's one of the best non-hotel brands on Maui.

We were there just over a year ago. We liked being able to walk into Kihei from there or to either of the restaurants across the street. It is literally on a hill so not everyone would say walking is possible, especially the walk back! Our unit was not what I would call plush but we saw some from a distance that had flat screens on the wall so I think they were doing an ongoing refurb. We had an ocean view from our lanai, unit #13, I think.

#13 is in a good location. We own #10 (a 3-bedroom) that is about in the same location. In April we were in #24, which is a little further up the hill, near the pool.

Every morning we'd walk into town and stop and get coffee. I wish I was back there right now.

We were at Maui Hill last Feb. for 2 weeks, and loved it. The location is wonderful (near the beaches, the Wailea beach walk, and our favorite snorkle location)! Wish we were going again....
