Currently lava is flowing near the eastern boundary of the park at the end of HI 130.

We just returned from taking the 3:00 pm guided tour

and it was excellent. We were able to see lava flowing into the ocean.

All 5 of us that were in our party highly recommend his tours.

Ken was a very good guide and took extra time with us.

This is a private tour and not part of the park.

I think it would be OK for older children, not for younger ones.

Big Island Volcanoes, Watefalls and Helicopters??

Hi I'm new here and looking for advise from experts. We have been to Hawaii by cruise ship but this is the first time we've exchanged to Hawaii and a really looking forward to it.

We really want to see the volcanos and the lava flows and have been looking at a tour we found by Big Island XTREME Volcano Helicopter Tour Lava & Waterfalls it sounds amazing and they have the option of doors on or off?? Is it worth the extra$ for hte doors off?

Is this better to see from the ground rather then helicopter?

If you want great pictures, doors off is the way to go.
