I would appreciate any recommendations for a nice upscale restaurant to have Christmas supper. Kids are 17+19, so doesn't need to be family style.
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions. I remember going to a very upscale buffet at one of the hotels many years ago. I wondered if something similar might still be offered.
Ocean House in the Outrigger Reef Hotel was our favorite in 2008.
We enjoyed this too but our favorite place is at the Halekulani. Go for cocktails first in "The House Without a Key". For this alone, we like to return to Waikiki Beach every year. The drinks are great and so is the music, dance and atmosphere and the view, of course.
You might want to check out the Dining Out magazine in the Honolulu Advertiser. Here is a link to last week's. It has several possibilities, and I am sure as time gets closer there will be more advertisements of things you may be interested in.

Yes, there are many upscale buffets. In the Sheraton Waikiki, there is the Kai Market. I've never done it, but I've been told it's pretty good.
The Hanohano Room is also a good restaurant with a great view from the Sheraton Waikiki.
The Prince Hotel has a pretty good Japanese Buffet that has really good sushi. All upscale dining experiences with prices to match.
Any thoughts for a traditional Xmas dinner for that day?
What is traditional for you? You mean Turkey, Prime Rib, Ham or Goose? We don't know because we usually prepare that for ourselves. It won't be that hard to find. Just ask concierge when you arrive.
Thanks Boca. I wasn't sure if we were likely to need ressies in advance. A phone call to the concierge should handle it.
We were in Waikiki for Thanksgiving. We prepared a meal for 17 in our condo at HHV. But, there were lots of restaurants serving Thanksgiving dinner. What I would have done is ask around for who was likely to have the best dinner and I would have gotten a ressie there.
If the Sheraton Waikiki is doing something, I would go there. You will get great food. In fact, I am going to the Rum Fire right now for drinks and then onto dinner with a friend for her birthday.
I would call the Sheraton Waikiki to see what they are doing. Given you criteria. That is absolutely what I would do. Kai Market or Hanohano room is an experience that will knock your socks off.
