  • Confirmed, I am on a roll !!!!!!

A few weeks ago I was playing around with my RCI account and found a 1BR Lawaii Beach resort just sitting there for 12/26/14 to 1/2/15 so I booked it.

Today I was playing around with my II account and saw a 2BR Kona Coast section II sitting there for 12/19/14 to 12/26/14 and even though I was not even thinking of two weeks for Big Island and Kuaii I just couldn't let this go by.

Weeks 51 and 52 confirmed for 2014 so I'm doing my happy dance again

Anyone still think timesharing doesn't work?????

You'll dance that happy dance until you pay for airfare.

Timesharing works when all the right things line up, like they have for you
Advance planning and flexibility in location, those work great!
          Congrats!!!!

I am not too concerned as I have plenty of FF miles and hope to at least get two tickets with AA or United. If not I will pay for the trip as I have learned that life is just too short to worry about the small stuff. So no matter what I will still be doing the happy dance.

I decided not to sweat the airfare anymore, either. I need to go to Hawaii once or twice a year for my mental health. It's a medical expense, lol.
I only have 2 more years of having to travel during the school breaks. Then, hopefully, my flights will cost less because I'll be able to go anytime. And as far as I am concerned, any time of year is a good time to be in hawaii.

Seriously, though, that's how we wound up going to Kauai in '99, playing around on RCI one day. Got two weeks up yonder at a lesser place first. Then, a week before our first check-in, a 2-bedroom in the DCB at LBR showed, so I swtiched. Two days later a 2-bedroom at Poipu Point, then known as the Embassy at Poipu showed up, so I switched for it for the second week. Got oceanfront, oceanview at both places.

                Nice trip. Nice Golf.

                  Good for you.
I agree with you, exchanging still works if you are flexible and on top of it.
I'm getting better trades now than I ever have in my 15 years of owning timeshares.
Of course hanging around here helps too where you are immersed in all things RCI & II etc.

I'm kind of coming around to that conclusion too.
When I average what I am paying for accomodations then the airfare added into the mix doesn't sting as much.
For example it's $450 to fly to Cayman from Miami next year but I got Morritt's for around $550 for the week.
So $1000 for a full week is still a pretty good deal IMO for a week in a 2 bedroom oceanfront.
Granted it's not Hawaii but it's our east coast version of Hawaii.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I book my GF's or my son's tickets with FF miles and pay for mine.

My airline version of dollar cost averaging. I keep earning more that way and with my elite bonuses, the miles pile up pretty quickly.

I've only got a few years of peak time travel left as well.
