  • Trip of Lifetime for Anniversary Couple

    Looking for advice.

My nephew is helping his dad organize trip of lifetime as an anniversary surprise for his mom. They are going April of 2015. Plans are up in the air right now but one island they want to see for sure is Maui. Given this information, I'd love to get recommendations for a place to stay on Maui. Any suggestions for best place to stay? I belong to RCI and haven't seen anything WOW -- but they are planning on renting. They are looking for studio or 1 bedroom -- not looking for a hotel room.

    Thank you!

I'd suggest checking vrbo (vacation rental by owner). You can check for location, size of unit, see pictures and reviews.

We own in Kihei and love that area, but many people prefer the other side from Lahaina on up to Kapalua. Also check Wailea, which is south of Kihei. It's another resort area and should have some nice rentals.

Thanks Luanne -- I did tell him to look there. And, thank you for your input.

We went to Hawaii for our 25th ~ just before we joined RCI. We rented from Noelani Condos ~ not sure if they're still around. They're on Lower Haniopoli Road just north of Lahina. It was a very nice studio ~ nice area ~ and prices were reasonable. I'll see what other info I can dig up if you're interested. Actually, I just did a little searching, and found this....... http://noelanicondoresort.com ~ we had an Oceanfront Studio which was wonderful!

If they can get an oceanfront unit that would be wonderful! Much as I love Kihei and Wailea, I'm not sure how many oceanfront properties there are. Dh and I rented an oceanfront unit in Kona last summer and we loved it.
