Should I bring my own beach towels? Or can we find something usable at Kahana Falls? Same for snorkeling equipment? Can we rent some at Kahana, should we bring some, or should we rent locally?

I think I have a site map kicking around here if you want to phone for a unit ahead. We got there really, really late at night (actually about 3:30 in the morning) due to flight delays. Had a first floor unit but we liked it.
I don't have a scanner but can fax a copy to you if you like. You can private message me or email me at bevvy5@yahoo.ca

We rented decent snorkel gear for $15/week on Front Street in Lahaina, there may be a similar price in Kahana somewhere, if not then Lahaina's just a few minutes away, you can pick it up on your way to dinner one night (next to Aloha Mixed Plate at the 'beginning' of Front street if you're coming from Kahana; just a block or so past Canoes on your right). The resorts were charging $30/week. Hope this helps with the decision about whether to bring your own. Also, btw, we didn't like Snorkel Bob's, they advertise $9/week but hustle you hard for upgrades/extra stuff/tours, etc..

We ended bringing the towels due to another poster's complaints about the towel service at Kahana Falls. They didn't take up that much space anyway.
We got snorkeling gear at Boss Frogs, which was just up the block from Kahana Falls. We spent $16 for 2 of us for 1 day. We went with the upgraded masks and snorkels and my husband got the prescription mask. Worked out well, but as I was cleaning up the paperwork as we were packing to leave, I noticed that there was an offer for $20 or so for the entire week through the concierge desk. Too bad I missed it, but since the winds picked up for the 2nd half of our vacation, we weren't able to do much snorkeling anyway.

So did you get your 'view'?....how was the place? Look forward to your review if you do one. We are headed there next summer."If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed."
-- Thomas Jefferson to Col. Yancey, 1816

A room with a view
I was disappointed when we got there and I'd been assigned to 210A. I said that I'd requested a high floor and they said they were full for the Labor Day weekend. The unit is on the end and when I opened the drapes in the dining area, we had a nice view between the buildings across the street. So I did get a view! I have a lot more to write, but we got in late and were jet lagged.
Back to work today and trying to catch up so if I get a chance later tonight, I'll do a write up.
Thanks for asking!
