Jen, when the Fairfield Waikiki resort is finished, will that mean that the whole street and corner is completed too? There was a lot of construction going on when we were there in April.

Here is a web page where you can see a live web cam of Lewers Street and Kalia Road from and to several directions.

The Fairfield looks really close to completion and they seemed to be working on the final details.

You could see all the stalls for the Beachwalk shops but its still empty concrete. The retailers still need to get in there and "build out" their stores.

The signs all said completion in Fall of 2006.

The Embassy suites looks like it will be the last to be complete.

On the Trump Tower location they are knocking down the last of the old building on the site. They are projecting completion in 2009.

Besides the Beachwalk construction, the Royal Hawaiian Shopping center is undergoing major renovation so Kalakaua looks like a huge construction zone. Once its done it should be a big improvement with more open space, palm trees, and hawaiian ambiance.

I wish I had a camera with me today. Next time I go to Waikiki I'll be sure to take it.
