no a/c at Lawaii Beach Resort, too hot in July?

I've got a 2 bedroom on hold. Would prefer Princeville but am wondering if I should just keep this one. Is it too hot in July? Also, I am noise sensitive and am worried about sleeping with the windows open...

July can reach temps in the mid-to-high 80s. I'd want a/c. Many reviews on TUG talk about too much noise. A lot depends on which unit & bldg. you're in. I've never stayed there however.

A/c ??

We were in Kauai five years ago, (can't remember what timeshare we stayed at), but it did not have A/C. Luckily our unit wasn't noisey, but we decided next time we'd want A/C. It is bearable, but it was warm in the bedroom which was in back of unit.

We stopped by this timeshare when we were at the Waiohai. We went to see the rental desk and they showed us a unit that we could rent in a building with a very nice ocean view. I don't remember the name of this building but I still have the brochure and could look it up.

However, when you exchange in this resort, you are put in the noisiest units as I have read a complaint about it from Denise. You can also read her review on TUG, dated June 25, 2005. I couldn't find her post about it so quickly but I remember it because my DH is very noise sensitive too. I would rent or not go there. You get the best views, if you buy at this resort which sounds fair to me.

We stayed at this resort 2 years ago through a trade with RCI. We had a 1 bedroom on the ground floor. We went in October and the temps were in the high 70's to low 80's and found that the only way to stay cool was to leave the louvered glass windows open at night. We found it to be very noisey at night as some of the guests would play there tv's loudly or talk very loudly and and then first thing in the morning either it was houskeeping, the grounds people or other guest coming and going that would wake us up first thing in the morning. Although it was a nice resort and the rooms a good size and the staff friendly and helpfull I would not stay there again. Unless your down to the wire I would wait till you were able to trade into one of the resorts that had AC. We just came back from Kuaui and stayed at the SVC Beachboy resort and would highly recommend this resort.

We visit Kaua`i almost in August almost every year, and most of the time we spend at least one week in Kaua`i.

We seldom use AC, even when we occupy a unit when it's available. The last two years, we have been there during Kona weather conditions (no trade winds, hot and humid) and have been quite comfortable without AC.

When we and the inlaws were there we enjoyed every minute of the entire week, despite being in a ground floor unit in the DCB. In fact, we were in the very first ground floor unit from the road and the parking lot. I assume that would be one of the noisy locations being referred to.

We even didn't mind the fact that beach people during the day and restaurant people during the evening took up all the convenvient parking places (despite signs, I believe). There's a huge parking garage on the back of the property and we'd just put the Jimmy there.

I don't recall having a problem with no AC, although it was warm enough to swim and snorkel during the day.

The next week we were at the resort formerly known as the Embassies and at that time there was only AC for the master suite. I don't remember that being a problem either.

It was out best two weeks of timesharing, but then we are simple people and easy to please.

Well, personally, I do not like a/c. BUT we do tend to run it at night so we can close windows and block out noise as we do like to sleep late in the morning. Also, we may be traveling with friends who are accustomed to high-end hotels and this will be their first t/s experience... I want to try to eliminate as many potential problems as possible...
