  • Pahio at Ka-Eo Kai on hold.. a/c?

So now I've got a 2 bedroom on hold for Pahio at Ka'Eo Kai for 7/28... is Princeville any cooler in the summer than the Poipu area? I can't tell, but I don't think there is any a/c here...Frank do you know? I wouldn't mind but we may be travelling with picky friends... But the units look Huge

It's a popular resort. Did you check the reviews Over Yonder? Might also try calling them if no one gives you a definitive answer. www.weather.com can give you temps. for Princeville & Poipu (use Lihue) area. My 'guess' is that the two areas will be within one degree of each other but Princeville may feel cooler because of more clouds & showers.
    Cheers,
    Phil

Thanks, Phil. RCI couldn't tell, but I finally got hold of someone at Pahio who confirmed there is no a/c and agreed that it gets 'hot...'

I won't stay in any HI condo w/o AC in the summer.

          Sigh...

I am going to release this one, too. But it seems like my choices are steadily improving... fwiw I have gotten a match almost daily, eventually maybe they'll come up with a keeper!!

If I recall it does have AC, Funny I can remember my room # 23c with a huge porch with a great view. I recall That the room had the top amenites down to a Bose speakers and a top brand expensive coffee maker. I will look for my review on www.igoyougo.com Member name big_frank

I'm another one that doesn't like to stay in Hawaii during the summer without a/c. That said, we used to use our unit at Maui Hill (last week of August) and never use the a/c. And I don't think we had a/c at the Makai Club (Princeville) when we stayed there during the summer, and didn't have problems. The only place we've stayed without a/c and really "suffered" was in Kona.

We just returned - WE stayed at SHearwater & the room was fine. The rest of our party was at Kao E Kai and they were fine but it was a little too warm for my tastes and I am sure it would be warmer in the summer.

                  Upgraded to Shearwater

Our very first exchange was to KaEoKai in 2002. Arrived at the airport check-in and was told we had been moved to the Shearwater. I was very suspicious and somewhat surly! Needless to say, once we arrived my fears were put to rest. Unfortunately, it did allow me to develop some unreasonable expectations for future exchanges!
