Got this via email from a relative who took the flight last fall... I'm going to book it tomorrow

"The direct flight was WONDERFUL and on time both ways.

You leave at like 2 in the afternoon. They show a couple of movies and give you lunch and dinner. For us, the entire second cabin of the plane was almost empty so we all stretched out on the empty seats.

Going home, the flight leaves at 10:30PM. We were able to have that whole day, taking a 6PM flight from Maui to Honolulu. One ambien and the next thing you know you're in Newark."

I'll have to remember that. I get cranky on anything longer than 6 hours...how cranky can you get if you're sleeping?

We did it. It wasn't bad... Toosh gets real sore and I ended up standing in nearing the restrooms for over an hour. We have talked about not doing it the next time but I think I would still opt for it.

Well I called Citibank Elite to book it today since I have enough miles for a free ticket, and lo and behold, they would only give me a connecting flight on AmericaWest.

Or a free companion ticket, connecting again, on American, but I'd have to pay $300 more for the first ticket

So I haven't decided yet. Again.
