Two Weeks Until Hawaii

We will be at the Fairfield Hawaii at Waikiki Beach form Jan 5 to 12.

From Jan 12 until Jan 20 we will be at The Point at Poipu.

And we will using our week at the Kaanapali Beach Club from Jan 20 to Jan 27.

Leaving in 12 hours for the Big Island

The title says it all. I have so much to do still. I hate the day before big trips. I get pretty anxious deciding what to pack for everyone (except my husband), and coordinating all the details of the travel. Also tidying up loose ends at home. I am a packing minimalist and hubby is a "maximalist"; I like to get to the airport early and he thinks the plane will wait for us... Typically, the morning of travel is especially stressful for us. Once we are through security, then I can relax and start to enjoy the upcoming vacation.
I have been looking forward to this trip for a year, and know it will be worth the pretrip stress.

Have fun. I and my family are heading this morning to the airport to travel to Phoenix and then on to Flagstaff and Sedona.

What not to miss on Oahu?

We have been to Kauai and Maui.

We have been on Oahu for a long week end. We just saw the Arizona Memorial and Battleship Missouri and didn't get a car to see any other part of the island of Oahu.

What are some of the other must things to see and do on Oahu?

We'll be at Marriott Ko Olina in Jan.

Hi Walt,

We are going to be at Ko Olina from Jan 5 to 12.

We also spent a weekend on Oahu several years ago.

I am tentatively planning on at least one snorkel trip, the Polyisian Village, driving around the island to check out things outside of town.

Maybe go to the bowl that has a WW 2 memorial(other than the Arizona).

Maybe a whale watching trip.

Ko Olina has some sort of Luau on Tue night.

I have heard you can snorkel in the Lagoons at the Marriott so I'll be checking it out.

We might do a Ko Olina TS tour.

I haven't been to Oahu in many moons so I'm sure much has changed. We had a car & drove around the entire island last time. We spent a full day at Polynesian Cultural Center. Drove up to the Pali Cliffs Lookout. Hiked to the top of Diamond Head. Took a taxi once to the Punch Bowl and then walked back ( we were much younger) through Honolulu to our hotel at Waikiki. We have toured the Palace twice (highly recommend.) Also have gone to the Bishop Museum twice. Very nice.
