Been a while since we stayed at PonoKai. They seem to have stayed with the understated, comfortable feel that they had then.
Can't beat the view though!

I'm really ticked off. I have 4 electrical outlets and the a/c in the master bedroom not working. Very old and shoddy electrical work. I guess that's one of the fall outs of being right next to the ocean. Everything rusts out.
Fortunately, it's not hot right now. So, we will want to keep the windows open anyway. I just forgot to bring a power strip. We'll have to make a costco run to pick one up.
Other than that, the unit is great. The oceanview makes up for everything.
This is a pretty laid back resort. Feels like a condo complex.Comment

There is a beach. I don't see anyone swimming in the ocean. But, it looks like it's possible. I have some additional pictures that I'll post so you can see for yourself.Comment

When it rains, it pours. Now the transmission in my rental car went out. Fortunately it happened at the resort. National is sending over a replacement.
Housekeeping came up and fixed the electrical outlets. The a/c needs a new compressor, so it will be fixed on Tuesday when the a/c guys go back to work.Comment

We don't seem to need A/C on Kauai, the ocean breezes keep us cool, but we stay in Princeville, which may be a little different in temperature. I have never asked that question but Kapaa does seem warmer.

Hey Boca! How long are you staying? Next Saturday a group of fodorites known as the K9's are getting together at the SandBar at 4 pm. You should go down and tell em that iceeu2 sent you to make sure they act right! You can meet the likes of Kal, makai1, MelissaHI, Auntiemaria, etal. I would do you a link, but DH has changed us to this new windows crap and I can't figure it out yet. Maybe someone else knows the thread I am talking of and can link it.............

This unit has serious electrical problems. Don't worry. When I'm done here, it will be fixed for everyone from here on out.
The cable went out. So, housekeeping came up and changed the splitter which rusted out. I've never seen that happen before.
Now, the power plug on the TV in the master bedroom fried out. I need to have that plug changed and the TV.Comment

They are waiting for other newcomers per this thread, so go on down and meet some mighty fine folk! Also, since they have posted links with photos, you should be able to recognize them with no problemo...I think I finally got the link to work.
