The electrical problems are all fixed. This unit is great, otherwise. Really love the broadband internet with my vonage. I don't have to share my internet connection with my kids.

I've visited several timeshares to date. Pahio Ka'Eo Kai, Shearwater and Bali Hai Villas, Alii Kai (not sure if it was 1 or 2), The Cliffs, The Marriott Waiohai, The Sunterra Point at Poipu and the Lawai Beach Resort.

My favorite of those resorts is the Marriott Waiaohai. I'm definitely going to get a unit there sometime soon.

The Sunterra is also extremely nice. About a half step down from the Marriott, but wonderful and HUGE.

The best two resorts I saw in Princeville were the Pahio Shearwater for its views and the Cliffs Resort for a great overall resort feel.

I love this Pono Kai resort because it is so close to the Ocean and has such great views. It is in a very good location, but the traffic is extraordinarily bad.

Princeville and Poipu are rather upscale areas and are nice if you prefer luxury.

This island has been taken over by chickens. Last time I was here was before Hurricane Iniki where I weathered the storm out in Oahu. I guess the chickens got loose from the hurricane and took over the island. Roosters are cockadoodle dooing all day long.

I got a chance to get a Lampert's Ice Cream. Haven't had one in over a decade, but it was worth the trip. I recall the Macadamia Nut ice cream being unbelievable. I remembered correctly.

Had a Puka Dog for the first time ever. It was awesome. Really creative how they make the bread and poke a hole in it to put all the stuff. That prevents you from getting stuff all over your hands.

When you buy food at the grocery store, make sure you sign up for a Safeway card. Our first shopping trip totaled $129.99 with $48.33 savings vs. non-card holders. That was unbelievable how the bilk tourists.

Great trip. Can't wait to come back.

I forgot to mention, I met the people at HTSE. They have 2 desks in the lobby of the Lawai Beach Resort. Very nice people. I met 75% of the company. Can't wait to sign up with them.

Living in NY, I'm having a difficult time picturing this.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I remember many beautiful beaches on Kauai but when we were there the very first time, everywhere we stopped off the road were signposts that you could not swim there except for a few well-known beaches. Has that changed today?

I really appreciate that you are going to visit several timeshare units while you are there and I really appreciate all the pictures you take and share with us. I would love to do the same out of curiosity but I don't get my DH interested and he doesn't want me to drive alone as I would get lost, which is true.

What a lovely koi pond too. It's wonderful to watch them.

Pics would be great, but again, please don't cramp your vacation. I have heard that they have redone the units and they are supposed to be nice; if it doesn't look great, I may try to book something else instead. I was sold on the Kapaa location since we'll only have one week on Kauai.
Avery, the Grand Wailea is very busy but it was Easter week and they had an Easter service outside.

Have you visited the Marriott almost next door? I wished they had some timeshare units there. It has the most beautiful views but they have no beach because it is mainly lava but you have one close by on either side. We walked here every morning before we went snorkeling at Ulua Beach. I find the little sandy coves with lava rocks on either side so much nicer than the commercial Ka-anapali beach even though the views from there are beautiful too.

Yes, they are everywhere. They may keep you awake too but to me, it is part of your experience on this island. I remember seeing them on the beach for the first time and could not believe my eyes.

                Boca,
Your pictures are grand and make me so anxious to go!! We've got a week's exchange July 1 at the Waiohai and are keeping our fingers crossed for the following week at any of 10 locations on Kauai, Oahu or Maui. I hope it comes through soon because I can't be completely excited until it's all set.

We stayed at the Cliff's Club in 2003 with friends and loved that side of the island. We have a few resorts in the Princeville area on our exchange list, including the Cliffs.

Puka Dog...YUM!! What relish did you get? I had mango.

Back in 2003 my husband had a seafood burrito at Zelos in Hanalei that was the biggest thing we've ever seen. Highly recommended!

Once we get our exchange, I'll post with more glee!

Emmy....Thanks for the pic. The beach is just about the last place that I would expect to see a chicken.

They are really adorable, tho, especially the little guys. And, you right, it certainly would add to the experience of the Island. Someday, I hope to see them, first hand.

Where are the pictures of you and your family? Pictures are supposed to be of the people on the beach.

Pono Kai sounds so nice. Did you tour Bali Hai?

Mango relish is the best. I had a second with Coconut. And, I got it spicy.

I visited several more timeshares today. I went back to Princeville to see the Hanalei Bay Resort and the Makai Club. I think the Hanalei Bay Resort is the best resort is all of Princeville. Wow. What a great place. I met a guy who owns a 3 bedroom plus loft he will rent me. I can't wait to try it.

Boca, how many timeshares have you visited already in Kauai? We stayed twice at Alii Kai II in Princeville several years ago and really enjoyed it. The condo was large and comfortable and had everything you wanted.

The view over the Bali Hai mountains was breathtaking. We also enjoyed the Marriott Waiohai in Poipu very much. I can no longer insert pictures if they do not show here now. It must be my computer because you still can. If it works here now, then it is Smugmug.

Here are the links too of the beautiful view from the Alii Kai timeshare. It was so peaceful here.

Angela, you will love Kauai and all the Hawaiian islands. One day, you will be here and return just like Avery.

Pictures didn't show again on my computer so I looked further into the problem. I finally found the answer why the pictures didn't show on my computer. I had the "privacy setting" too high so third party cookies were restricted or blocked. I had the same problem on the Mac too. I got it finally solved!
