Timeshare Tours in Hawaii: Any Resorts Offering Cheap Stays to Tour?

Planning ahead...I have a few nights before and in middle of confirmed piggybacked weeks in Hawaii. I need to book something for nights I'm not covered by timeshare stays. So...does anyone know of any developers peddling timeshares either on Oahu, Maui or Big Island, that might be offering discounts or even free (fat chance) nights in adjacent hotels? If nobody knows of anything, how can I find out, how can I dig around to research what might be out there?

Also, if nothing is available via timeshare promos, does anyone have recommendations of "do not miss" hotels or B & Bs on Oahu, Maui or Big Island? I'd want to pay under $100 'cause I'm cheap and it's just two of us.

Carol, Westin and Marriott have packages too. There were a lot advertised here. I didn't check it now if they are available or not.

Promo's in Hawaii???? what are some good one's?

We have a two week Kahana Falls timeshare stay in Maui beginning early July 2007 and we would like to tack another 5 nights or so on the end of the trip. We are looking into Hawaii timeshare promo stays particularly on Maui....we may consider one on Oahu since our FF return flights are currently out of HNL.

Does anyone know of some good promo stays in Maui? Or elsewhere?

We are currently considering one at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa which is 5 nights/6 days, $100 resort cert, $185 toward and Avis Rental Car for $749. (two adults/two kids).....do any owners have a better deal where they get a referral credit too?....or any way to secure a timeshare unit instead of hotel stay?

I have already posted a Hilo Hattie Marriott Ko 'Olina promo from Oahu but that is for travel in 2006.

Doesn't Marriott Maui have any promo stays?

I see you responded to my posting from HiloHattie. The link still works but it says only for 2006 travel. They have a 800 number so you may want to try that to see if they have still have the special or have updated it.

Carol, I remembered now that Hawaiian Airlines offered a similar promotion so I added it under John's post too. Almost everyone is a member of Hawaiian Airlines if you fly to Hawaii.

I'm slated to go in Nov '07...need 3 nights on front end and then 2 nights in middle. All those promos seem to be 5 days/4 nights...that won't work for me. Just scored two ATL-HNL f.f. tix...just hoping I don't have to cancel it all since my life tends to be so uncertain these days.

On the way back I'm flying from HNL to SFO, and if I don't have any freelance work lined up, I'm thinking of wasting my last flt leg back to ATL to stay in San Fran Bay area for a coupla nites, then take Air Tran home. Ambitious plans eh? I just hope I can do it! Next November seems so very far away! Hmmm, wonder if there are any promos in San Fran!

I've always been afraid to try them. Maybe this is the way to get initiated! And how bout Hawaii...Priceline for those Hawaii nights I'm homeless? Worth a try?

We've used Priceline a few times for San Francisco. As long as you bid the right zones and classifications, you should be fine. Not familiar with bidding for Hawaii. Check biddingfortravel first to get some idea of what people are getting and how much they're paying.

And just give me a little advance notice about use of the couch.

check out www.biddingfortravel.com before you start. We got the Hilton SFO for $70/nite a few years ago over Easter week. You can control neighborhood and star rating, so unless there's a clunker in the group you should do ok. Biddingfortravel will give you an idea of where people are getting and what they're paying.

I got caught off guard a couple of years ago because of the difference in Star ratings. Travelocity & Expedia use 5 star classes, but price line use 4 star classes. I conducted my research on the former for a 3-4 star, and determined a price. When I went to Priceline and put in a 3 Star, which they stated was for Hilton, Marriott, etc., I ended up with a Marriott I didn't recognize from my research. When I went to T & E, that hotel was a 2 star in their ratings.
