  • Anyone stay at the Imperial Hawaii Resort Club?

I was just doing some searching and I booked a unit for President's Week in this resort using an II accommodation certificate. My expectations are low, but it is right in Waikiki.

    What's it like?

    Hi,

We own 2 floating weeks there in a KOA unit. Since we just received a HUGE s/a for refurbishing the units should be in the midst of being redone. I'd call and request one of the newly redone units.

We were there a few years ago and it was clear that the units were getting tired, hence the s/a.

The KOA units sleep 4-6 depending on the one you get. They do have two baths and the location is great. I'd request one with a mountain view, as long as it was recently refurbished. There is a kitchen, but we only did breakfast and snacks in. We also brought home leftovers from dinner and used them as lunch or snack if we were in.

There is an owner's club and lounge that is nice. As with anything in Hawaii everything is expensive.

If you have any specific questions please pm me.

      Stayed there

We stayed there about 6 years ago. We were in the smaller 1 bedroom-there were 3 adults. If I remember correctly, it had a sofa bed and a pull-down bed in living room, plus a regular bedroom. The full bathroom was small as was the kitchen, but I don't think we ate there unless it was for breakfast.

The good thing is the location. You're about a block from the beach and downtown Waikiki is nearby.

Higher level rooms should have a nice view. We were in a lower level room. The lounge on the top floor is very nice and a great place to see the weekly (?) fireworks. The pool area was also on top floor (roof) and fairly breezy and too cool for me. I'm sure if they haven't been refurbished since we were there, they really need it.

If you want a decent place to stay and can live without plushness. It was fine. We'd be happy to return.

      Hope this helps some.

We stayed there a few years back. The first few days were hell. The room was very small. So small that I took the door off leading into the bedroom bathroom. The way they had it set up it was a joke opening the door. BTW I put it back. Management helped me and put me into a really nice room 2 days later that was wide open and had a nice view. All of there staff was stressed with the many complaints but yet they did what they had to do to keep people happy, The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. You really can not beat the area. The HGV is one of the nicest TS in the area but good luck trying to get in.
If you can go to Dole and try your luck on the worlds largest maze. My son had broken a record for finishing it at an extremely fast time. I believe he had the 2nd or 3rd fastest time and received a special shirt for doing it.
