Boy, I wished that they flew into Seattle. Even at this price, I can't justify not flying from Seattle, non stop on Hawaiian or NorthWest.

Aloha just sent me another email about this sale so they must still have ample seats or just released more. Hope you can take advantage.

The new book by deadline is Feb 14 - Valentines Day.

every time I get ready to book my Newark/HNL direct flight, I see one of these deals. Makes me think I should wait for a summer special and stop in CA. Do you think there will be any summer specials?

Trading Places has some weeks in early march at the Fairfield in Waikiki that are very reasonable that may work with this. 1 and 2 bedroom units. They are on the Hot Deals. Kayak also had cheap fares for theses times with American and ATA.

Sure they have sales all the time. It all depends on the supply and demand of all the airlines to a specific destination. Two years ago we had to book a flight as we felt we were running out of time for three weeks we had booked on the BI. Airfares were really high and we were getting worried and finally got tickets after prices cooled a bit. Then about 10 days after we purchased $700 RT airfares there were multiple sales for about half that. Then they skyrocketed again after that. So one never knows.

Well, I must admit the $750 r/t not incl. our inter-island flights is giving me pause. Worth it to us for $100 more than a flight with a stop, but for more I'd do the transfer... what I really would like is to book a one way home from HNL to EWR (overnight straight through) and book a different airline going with a stop, but Continental d/n have a one-way fare

                Avery,

I just booked what I feel is a great July summer fare for a direct non-stop flight on ATA Airlines LAX to OGG. RT came out to $427.30 total each seat. It was not worth waiting for a possible sale that may or may not come and the max upside of a sale might be a savings of $500 total or possibly higher fares. Add the stress and time it would take to be vigilant about it. Plus we don't have to take the red-eye home via HNL.

Now I will have to cancel my FF reservations. I had booked 4 FF seats for the outbound using SkyTeam KAL, NWA, and Delta miles on Delta LAX-OGG and the return via HNL on NWA for 3 of those seats. I was not able to book the 4th seat on the NWA return with my Delta miles because Delta's window is different (shorter) than NWA and KAL. When the Delta window opened there were no more NWA FF seats so my daughter was waitlisted but nothing has come up so I gave up when I found these fares. It just was not worth it to keep checking back and the return was a Friday which can sometimes be impossible too.

Booking FF tickets to Hawaii is a major hassle even when one knows how to do it because of flyertalk.com. It just kills me that Delta FF is at such a disadvantage to the other SkyTeam members. Go figure.

                Check out ATA.
