  • Need 3 nights on Kauai

Looking for March 31st and checking out on April 3rd. DH would like to do the south shore, but we southerners prefer air conditioning as opposed to the trade winds.

Can also do a week starting on March 31st anywhere on the island if the price is right.

    Any suggestions?

Would love the Waiohai. Have tons of rewards points but never any availability there. Has anyone stayed in just one of the hotel rooms there?

Waiohai will not be available for points redemption because it's an exclusive timeshare property. Try Marriott Kauai Beach Club. It might be available for the dates you need.

I just booked a three night points stay at the Marriott in Lihue for July. It really annoyed me to have to use "anytime points," aka a 50% premium, but at least it's not $$$... Our friends booked it using Amex points.

If you are looking for a condo with a/c, I have done quite a bit of research, I can send you a couple of links if you send me PM. It seems that the places with a/c are few and far between, and book up pretty far in advance...

You could always try for a 3 or 4 night promo stay offered by Marriott, Fairfield, SVC, etc....look around for them and be sure to read all the fine print.

Marriott is offering 5 nights at Waiohai for $799 incl rental car and a $50 Marriott gift certficate. There is also a Starwood promo at the Princeville hotel, around the same price for a hotel room. Another at the Kauai Beachboy-- we had booked one for summer but just cancelled after deciding to split b/t south and north instead (Boca, you are evil, but I mean that as a compliment ).

Only problem is you may not find space for your dates, I know summer is mostly booked by now and you are looking for a holiday week

From what I saw when I was there a few years back. IMO The Princeville Hotel is one of the best on the Island. It will cost you but it is worth it.
