I also believe Wyndham was very forunate to obtain this property. I think the units are very nice and the location is great. It just doesn't have many views outside of other buildings and the parking lot building.
Walt, are there any rooms that you would suggest to 'request' for a better view or any other reasons?
Thanks for posting some redeeming qualities about the Fairfield/Wyndham.. I was beginning to get nervous about my trip there this year!
First time to Hawaii, I don't want to be disappointed I am staying at a Sheraton for a few days first, then to another island after my week at Fairfield... still waiting for that request to come in
I would not want to just stay and just see Waikiki if this would be my one and only Hawaiian Island to see in my lifetime. Each island has something to offer. Waikiki is a great City. And it is a fun city. But it is a city. Get a car and see the rest of the island. Waikiki is not my idea of what the Hawaiian Island should be like. But the North Shore and East Shore is. Our 2nd week on Kauai was a perfect choice for our 2nd week. Then on to Maui for the 3rd week was again a perfect way to end our vacation.

This is one of my favorite pictures taken on the North Shore of Oahu.
wow nice pics! thanks walt. yes, i want to see the rest of the island as well, i heard that the traffic could be bad, but i am not going to let that inhibit me from sightseeing around the island for a couple of days... i want to go to maui or kauai for my second week, just waiting to hear from sfx...
i am going to try to request a high floor for my room, those views are nice
We are back at the Wyndham Waikiki and after being in Kona and Princeville for three weeks, I've gotten used to cold pools. I've been in the pool every day and it's not so bad! I agree that it's great to enjoy the other islands, but for so many people their trip to Hawaii is to Waikiki. It's nice to have a lovely timeshare right in the center of the action. This week-end was the Honolulu festival, and there was a stage with performances all day for several days located next to the Wyndham. I love the location.

We spent Saturday at the Convention Center for the Honolulu Festival. It was fun.
We will be back to the Fairfield Waikiki on March 24. It's really great what Outrigger has done with the Beachwalk. I didn't think they could pull it off, but they did. It's very nice. It almost makes up for the lack of any views.
Last month, we stayed at the Imperial Hawaii. Here is a picture from the owner's lounge on the 26th floor. The resort needs a lot of work on the inside, but the views from the 22nd floor up are excellent. I want Bluegreen to buy out this resort and renovate it. This is a picture facing west. The Hilton Hawaiian Village beach is in the picture and if the sky were clearer, you could see the Marriott Ko'Olina in the background. Walt's picture is facing south to see the ocean. Some of the buildings in his picture are in this one:
