Helping her make an informed choice!! If we get to Moloka'i again, I'll probably hike the trail.

    edited to add picture below:

Here a picture of one of the switchbacks on the trail. There's a second switchback just off the picture to the right.

“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Don't let him scare you. You can also get to Kalaupapa the civilized way, by small plane. That's the way dd and I did the tour. Fly in/fly out. And several of the people who were going back up the cliffs by mule were looking at our plane very longingly.

But, but, but ..... when get off the airplane you don't smell like mule. And how can you truly say you went to Kalaupapa if you don't come back smelling of mule (or sweat if you hike back).

I can say I was there because I have the pictures to prove it.

              Hahaha so funny...

OK, I have to admit, the small plane does sound a bit more enticing than the mule (I didn't know there were so many mules anyway, isn't it true that they cannot reproduce?)... for 2 reasons, (1) that first amazing picture with the cliff that you (Steve) posted did make me a little scared to be so close to with an animal.. and (2) it is my honeymoon, so I'm not sure the whole mule smell thing is going to work for me!!! hahaha

From your posts and others that I have spoken to, it seems like there is so many different things to do in Hawaii compared to other vacation spots!
