  • Pahio at Bali Hai resort map

    Hi-

I just made a reservation for the Pahio at Bali Hai. This is our first trip to Kauai. Our room assignment that I was given was Bldg A6A, Unit 613. Does anyone know where a resort map can be found or does anyone have any info about the location of this room? Curious if near road or away from it. I have read a lot about the noise from the road. Think I read somewhere that the first number in unit is bldg and last two numbers indicate the room. Thirteen being on the first floor. Does that sound right?

    Thanks, David

I can drive over there today and let you know. WE are staying at Shearwater. Not that I am bragging or anything.

Seriously, we are going over there to see the progress of the clubhouse this afternoon. It is not quite 1:00 p.m. here. I should be able to get back to you within an hour or so.

Your reservation doesn't really guarantee that unit, though. There is a much better chance you will be in buildings 1 or 2.

I couldn't see the progress of the clubhouse at all. I couldn't tell which building is the clubhouse! But I did see building six. The end of building six is close to the pool, which is great! The other end of the building backs to the construction, which is not so great. It could be noisy. So basically, your unit has a pretty nice location as compared to the pool.

        David, are you an owner?

No, I am not an owner of Pahio. I am a Fairfield, I mean Wyndham owner. I guess that Wyndham has taken over (at least a portion) of a couple of the Pahio resorts. We have booked a 2 bedroom presidential for my 50th birthday next March.

Thanks for going over and looking at the Bali Hai. I did not know of anything being done with the clubhouse. Is it a remodel or a new building? I have no idea of the layout of the resort since this will be our first trip to Kauai. I have looked high and low on the internet for a resort map of some kind, but have come up empty.

Good question. There's a resort map here, but I can't find a unit 613 on it.

Perhaps Bldg 6 is one of the new buildings, constructed since that map was prepared. If so, you would have one of the newer units. If that assumption is the case, building 6 will be located off that map somewhere around the lower right corner.

It is newly added so not in last year's directory, it is in the website, so you should be able to call VC and made internal reservation.

Building six is a newer one. They didn't build them in order. The building starts up by the pool, then it runs kind of perpendicular to the pool, in that the back end of the unit is near the road and the construction. Unit 613 is toward the pool.

It looks like construction is happening faster than ever, from what we can see. I can't believe how close the buildings are! The one great thing about Shearwater is that nothing obstructs the view of the ocean, except maybe a few plants when you are on the lower levels. The only units without terrific views are numbers 106 and 107.

Steve, we own 107 but have not had to stay there yet.

Which of those two did you get?

We are going via Fairfield. I called a VC and booked it. Although had to make several calls to do it. Heard numerous things, like "We don't have any resorts in Kauai!", and my favorite one "You can only book 6 weeks in advance". I ended up having to get a supervisor to book my room for me.

I believe we were in 106 - it was the one closest to the office, lower level.

That would be 106. Not a good view at all.

The choice of units was somewhat constrained by our arrival date. I believe there were only four units available for check-in on the day of the week we arrived, and the three others had already been assigned to owners.
