I know this is a bit late, but here's a new map of the Bali Hai Villas resort. The one thing I do notice is that currently there's no spot for the new clubhouse/restaurant/movie theater (unless it's between building 13 and a building that has yet to be numbered).

    https://www.fairfieldresorts.com/ffr...ali-hai-sm.gif

Corrected link here, this goes straight to the map. Old one you had to navigate to find it (about 3 clicks).

Thanks for the map! No, it is not too late. Our reservation is not till March of 2008. Thanks again.

5, 6, and 7 are the brand new one's. Then it goes newest to oldest from 13 down to 1 (although I think 2 is older than 1).

        Food for thought.

What is the view like from buildings 6 and 7? I see these buildings are angled toward the pool and volleyball court, but what's the view south?

Well, the compass of the map is way off. North should be in the vicinity of the clubhouse, the intersection of Kaui Road and Pepelani Road is actually east of the property. N on the map is actually E, W on the map is actually N.

So in reality, you're just looking across the pool to other buildings if you're looking south. I thinking you're actually meaning looking west due to the wrong compass, and there's a nice wooded area to the west that surrounds the creek/path you take to get to Queen's Bath (although the trail to Queen's bath is located on the opposite side of the creek from BHV).

Pretty sure you can't see very far over that wooded area to see the actual Bali Hai or the rest of the Princeville community to the west.

My understanding is that building 8 is one of the older ones. When we were there in April, they were giving tours from building 9, but last year, they were showing building 10, I think. We own a three bedroom in building 10, I believe, which was the first one they built. We bought it resale. I don't think it is as fancy as the newest ones, but it is a "penthouse," meaning it is a flight up. The stairs with luggage is not that fun.

Yeah, 1-8 (minus 5,6, and 7) are the old buildings. I believe we bought into 9 or 11...actually I'm sure it's 11. Those three bedrooms are nice, would love to see one of those at a resale price. Tons of room in those units.

We'll be there later this month and will take pictures of the building 6 or 7 2Br and 3Br Presidential lower units.

If anyone is interested in staying in a BHV 3BR Presidential lower unit checking in either July 27 or August 3, send me a PM.

They don't show those lower units when you tour, so the ceiling height may be a little lower than the upper level units.

Rifleman, if I told you what we paid for our 3 bedroom, you would not believe it. We got a great deal. Even Rick was all for buying it. The reseller was Caribbean Timeshare Resales on Timeshare Rentals and Timeshare Resales By Owner - My Resort Network Mary sold that week way too cheap. I think she had it listed for about two days before we had it paid for, via credit card, no less. When we found out it was worth 500K Fairshare Plus Points, we were very interested in getting that VIP platinum. After all, that week had us halfway there. We also own the 2 bedroom, which would be 308K points, a one bed EOY worth 119K annual points and were going to have to buy the EOY 308K points (154K per year) to get us to platinum. It was a difficult decision to rescind that purchase.

I'm just curious how you got it for that cheap, when the units themselves weren't being sold until 2005 at the earliest? Must have been a divorce or something...someone had to lose big time on the deal for you guys to make out like bandits.

No, the owners of the week traded it to go to Mexico, where they really wanted to own, and used it like a used car--they traded it in to buy two weeks in Mexico at a resort they really liked. Such a strange decision. That is how Mary Hernandez gets the weeks to sell through Caribbean Timeshare Resales. I bought it on MRN.

Lucky lucky lucky you are! I'm guessing they paid less overall for the two weeks than purchasing those two weeks at developer prices. If not, very very weird.

I wonder how many of the three bedrooms are staying "Pahio" instead of Wyndham.

My guess is not many, unless there are owners like Cindy with mutiple Pahio weeks valued at high points for the conversion.

It's tough to have to spend another $18K for conversion for FF VIP. Although in Cindy's case she would only need 154K EOY to convert all three weeks and get to 1,004,000 (should cost of less than 10K since they really want her Pahio conversions).

FF Corporate Direct should convert the first week for $2,395 and up to several others for $995 each and still guarantee qualifying VIP point status on all converted Pahio weeks.

Cindy has also been considering the PIC program to guarantee Platinum status, perhaps selling her Pahio Shearwater week to recoup some of the cost. But FF could quickly end PIC and/or they may only accept RCI Gold Crown weeks - a more expensive proposition and risk to take if you don't already own these weeks.

Personally - I'd keep all the Hawaii weeks. If FF won't guarantee VIP Gold status for converting those three weeks for $4,400 or get you an EOY 154K for under 10K and VIP Platinum - pass on VIP this year. Wait until sometime next year when FF announces what the new VIP Presidents club requirements are (reportedly that would be owning qualifying VIP points of at least 1 Million purchased retail from FF, excluding any PIC points).
