  • Best places to advertise a Hawaii rental

First, I hope there are no rules about posting a question here and also on TUG at the same time. I asked this question on TUG and thought that I would ask here as well to get a wider response base.

Those of you who own Hawaii weeks and rent them out, where do you get the best response to your advertisements. I have a week available that I need to rent out, and I don't want to pay to post it on every website available, so I thought I'd just pick the one or two where people have had the best response. I'd appreciate any advice.

I responded on TUG, but I'll answer here as well. Personally I've had better luck renting through the resort itself. Even after having them take their percentage we've come out ahead moneywise.

I have had some rental success on redweek.com.

I've rented in Hawaii from redweek.com once and from vrbo.com twice. The vrbo rentals weren't timeshares, though.

I have received most of my inquiries from vacationtimesharerentals and 2nd most from redweek. Hope that helps.

We list all our weeks on Bidshares

                since it is free.

Then at 6 months prior to start, on Redweeks, if still open at 3 months then myresortnetwork also.

In the past most of our weeks rented between 90-360 days in advance, this year, that changed, our closest to check in was 6 days and our farthest out was 171 days, so we adjusted our ads to start at 180 out, as they are good for 6 months.

I still believe that Maui has more requests for rentals and is harder to get.
