  • Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk ... ?

    Hi all,

Based on reading other threads, I thought that the new Wyndham in Waikiki was 1 12 story building... I was just reading this article (see excerpt below) that says it has 2 15 story buildings... anyone know which is correct? I want to call to see if I can request a higher floor room (and throw in the honeymoon thing) so I want to know exactly what I'm asking for... (also, does anyone know the best time to call, I called yesterday but no one was there, must have been nighttime there... I am in NY).

"Formerly the OHANA Reef Towers hotel, Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk is the culmination of an extensive two-year, $54-million renovation.

Boasting the warm colors and tropical ambiance of the Hawaiian Islands, the resort features 195 units including 95 one-bedroom, 83 two-bedroom and 17 two-, three- and four-bedroom luxurious penthouse style Presidential suites. Situated within two 15-story towers, each unit features a fully equipped kitchen, whirlpool bath, washer/dryer and a flat-panel television with DVD player. The resort also offers owners and guests a variety of amenities including an expansive sun deck featuring an outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool spa, a spacious exercise facility, family recreation room and a computer library. Thanks.. does it make sense to request a certain building.. is one better than the other? Is one closer to the beach with far off ocean views or anything like that?

No, no real views from either building (unless you own there)...either building would be OK....ask for a unit facing the street though, instead of the parkinglot (unless you get a high floor (9th) and can see Diamond Head like we did. I think if I had to do it over I would request a Lewers street view to peoplewatch.

We liked our view of the Beachwalk but were only in unit 304, so we were not on a higher floor at all. We enjoyed our two-bedroom unit. It was very nice inside, though you could definitely tell our unit was made up of three hotel rooms.

They originally tried to put us in 107, which was not okay with us. It was closer to the pool and had larger lanais, but it was too noisy, as it was on the way to every other unit and the elevator. Plus, on the other side of the living room were the restrooms for the pool area. Do not accept anything on that first floor! Noisy!
