Trying to get an idea of Maintenance fees. If you own a timeshare, could you state what size unit you have, what it's maintenance fees are, if you have had a special assesment, and if you are waterfront. Trying to get a handle on what is "average" for island timeshares. Thanks.

2007 we paid $599 for 1br/1ba Pono Kai; $600 1br/2ba Kona Coast II; $784 2br/2ba Kona Coast II; and $660 1br/1ba Maui Schooner, including annual fees and taxes. Our timeshares are floating, but we reserve ocean view for Kona Coast II and oceanfront for Pono Kai and Maui Schooner. No special assessments so far.AKA "Mimi" from Toms River, NJ on TUG

When Kauai was devistated by Iniki, we braced outselves for extra fees for our timeshare. However, there wasn't much damage and we were not accessed any. We have a two bedroom/two bath, about 2300 sq feet if you count the lanai. Maintenance fees are running around $800 which is appropriate according to the other timeshares we own.
