  • Kona Farmer's Market

A question was raised in another thread about whether there was a Farmer's Market in Kona. I decided to check and this is what I found:

    KONA

Kailua Village Farmer's Market Flowers, produce, macnuts and coffee. Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Across from Hale Halawai, Kailua-Kona.

Alii Gardens Marketplace 50 merchants, food for sale, as well. On Alii Drive, 2 miles south of Kailua Bay Pier. Wed.-Sun., 9am-5pm. Info: 334-1381

    Keauhou Farmer's Market
Every Saturday, from 8:00AM to noon at Keauhou Shopping Center, fronting Ace Hardware. All products are home grown in Hawaii - fruits, vegetables, flowers, coffee, macadamia nuts & more. Music too!

    Kona International Market
Tuesday thru Sunday, from 9am to 5pm, at a large new open-air facility built specially for it near HPM in the Old Industrial Area on Luhia St. Flowers, fruits & vegetables, crafts, clothes, 'ukulele. Many area vendors have relocated here from other farmers markets around town.

Kona Pacific Farmers' Coop Fridays, 8am-4pm. Fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, and more. Free tours of a macadamia nut and coffee operation. Ph: 328-2411. 82-5810 Napoopoo Rd.

South Kona Fruit Stand Tropical fruits and plants near the old Higashi store, Mon-Sat, 9 am to 6 pm, Sun, "10ish" to 5pm; 84-4770 Mamalahoa Hwy. in Captain Cook. Info: 328-8547.

The best prices for fruits is at the Kailua Farmers Market right in Kona town where you can get payayas for 3 for a $1. If you go early there you can even fine free parking in the parking lot where the market is. Or you can park at Coconut Grove shopping center and it's a short 2 blocks away.Alii Gardens and International Market are more tourisy.
