  • Question about RCI availability in Hawaii this June

    Hello,

I'm a new WorldMark owner (10K pts), but bought off the secondary market so I don't currently have an RCI membership. I'm taking the family to Hawaii this June and wanted to look at options within the RCI network. However, because I don't yet have an RCI membership I can't find out about availability, but at the same time I don't really want to go through the enrollment/payment process if nothing is available. A bit of a Catch-22.

So, I'm wondering if any of you helpful people that have an RCI membership might be able to provide some insight into whether there's anything available for the following:

    - June 7-13: Oahu, 1 or 2 bedroom
    - June 7-13: Kona, 1 or 2 bedroom

We already have a place in Maui for the time before/after this week and are trying to decide which island to go to (or both and just lose the unused days).

I hope this question isn't out-of-bounds. If so, my apologies.

Thanks for any help/advice/suggestions you might have on the trip.

Ian There is nothing there right now with a strong trader for your dates/islands.

However, Hawaii is one of the few locations where you can play "chicken" with RCI. Historically, nice things show up in the 14 day window.

Big Island is not highly likely. Oahu is more likely, especially if you will accept a studio. Kauai is most likely.

You can book a cancellable reservation and see what happens.

    Just a suggestion.

You may want to try Trading Places as well. They get a lot of Hawaii.

No results were found for your search criteria.

It's a little late and just one check-in date is a little too restrictive through RCI.

      Here's 10 weeks starting 5/31/08:

A Total of 7 Resorts were found for PACIFIC COAST AND HAWAII/HAWAII

          Airfare Prices

Have you checked the price of airfare. I checked today for July and the price from Virginia is $1200.00 per ticket. I purchased 2 tickets to Vegas on Monday and they were $703.00, today the same tickets are $899.00. They actually went up $56.00 when I was retrieving the information today.

Thanks for the speedy responses. I guess I'll go ahead with other cancellable reservations and then check back closer to time.

As for airfare, we're all set on that regard.

            Thanks again for the help.

              Ian,

Strongly suggest you go about setting up your RCI account and depositing a week with them with check-in at LEAST 12 months out. Something desireable but not too pricey points wise.

Reason being, that the other thing that happens within the 14 day window, the trade power necessary to pull the exchange isn't nearly as strong.
