  • Aloha from Kauai

We are into our 4th week in Hawaii and I can't believe how fabulous the weather has been. We spent a week at Pono Kai in a lovely 3rd floor ocean front unit (thank you Mr. BB!) and the week was wonderful. Then we moved up to Hanalei Bay Resort where we had a top floor ocean view unit that was recently all redone and in perfect condition. We had a few sprinkles at night but the days were glorious. I sure wish I could take pictures like Steve. Our sunsets have been awsome. Now we are at Lawaii Beach Resort and we love the unit. We are in the "dreaded" Coral building but we like it very much. We have a nice view of the sunsets over the little cove and it is only steps from the pool. People here are very friendly. We would certainly come here again anytime. Weather has shifted a bit to rather windy but still very pleasant. I'll give a full review on the resorts when we get back. Hubby has forbidden me from ever getting a laptop and I've been a good girl and stayed away from the computers until today! So Aloha for now.

      I think I hate you.

I'm back from the first leg of the "tour de colleges" with younger dd. There's nothing like touring the great Northwest in the rain. She loved University of Puget Sound and Lewis & Clark, less thrilled with Reed. We're home for what seems like only a few hours, just enough time to do some laundry, then we're off tomorrow for southern California. I'm exhausted.

The more I think about the more I think I need to go back for 3 more weeks.

Why don't we do a Hawaii TS4Ms get together. I'll help to set it up.

I'd love a meet with TS4Ms buddies. I've met lots of folks around the pool during the last 4 weeks but no one from either forum as yet. Lots & lots of RCI points people, a subject I have no experience with. Most are not so happy with RCI at the moment although if they've traded for Hawaii I can't understand why they are disatisfied.

We will probably not be returning for at least a year. Too many other plans on the calendar. But of course, we always say that & then end up booking another trip because we miss Kauai so much when our weather turns cold.

We have done several new activities on this trip, at least new for us. We visited the National Tropical Botanical Garden yesterday, which I highly recommend. We went for the tour at the Hindu monastary, also a very enjoyable experience.

There was a tragic accident here 2 days ago when a couple were dumped from their kayak and the man has apparently drowned. It happened directly in front of our resort and search teams worked all day for 2 days & have not found him. Very sad.

It is very choppy & windy but still no rain. Very unusual for this time of year.

4 weeks. I'll have to be satisfied with 2 and have to travel a whole lot further than you do.

Can't wait for your reviews as you have such a wonderful writing style.

I must admit, the 4 weeks have spoiled us forever. I used to feel 2 weeks wasn't enough, now....we may just rent a house for a month next time and forget trying to set up consecutive timeshare weeks. Well, the minutes in my credit bank on this computer console are ticking down & I have yet to check my e-mail. So, talk to you all when I get back to cold, rainy Calif.

That would be fun. We are going to Kauai every October. Usually the first two weeks.
